Classic or modern kitchen?

Classic or modern kitchen?

The best kitchen does not have to fit into one strict style. What matters more is whether the proportions, materials and details create a coherent relationship with the rest of the interior.

The best kitchen does not have to fit into one strict style. What matters more is whether the proportions, materials and details create a coherent relationship with the rest of the interior.

Classic kitchens — detail and proportion

Framed or milled fronts, glass cabinets and carefully chosen handles create a more decorative character, while contemporary classic kitchens can still remain visually light.

Modern kitchens — line and material

Smooth fronts, fewer divisions and a consistent palette allow the cabinetry, stone and lighting to define the interior.

The two directions can be combined

A simple layout can use framed fronts, while a classic composition can be simplified with modern colours and restrained stone surfaces.

Start with the whole interior

Before choosing the front, look at the flooring, doors, lighting and other furniture. The kitchen should feel like part of the architecture, not a separate decoration.
